The work here at Ecosystem Builder Hub revolves around the growing discipline of entrepreneurial ecosystem building. But ecosystem building isn’t always easy to describe. As part of our efforts to develop ecosystem building as a recognized and respected field and give ecosystem builders across the country the support that they need, we’re part of a panel proposed for SXSW 2020, A Moonshot for Entrepreneurship throughout the US.
Panelists representing key roles in this emerging field will share their perspectives on the opportunities for this work and successes already achieved. This panel will discuss what ecosystem building is and how hundreds of people are coming together to develop and promote this new model for healthier, more productive economic development.
This panel discussion will clarify what the emerging field of “Ecosystem Building” is and how it serves as a new model for economic and community development. It will highlight how ecosystem builders, resource partners & other key stakeholders are using “Mass Collaboration” to make this practice available to all communities, and who how ecosystem building is already helping communities as well as the challenges that still need to be overcome to have an even greater impact.
Panelists
- Andy Stoll, Senior Program Officer, Ecosystem Development, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation
- Fay Horwitt, VP of Community Innovation, Forward Cities
- Nia Richardson, Assistant to the Director for Small Business + Entrepreneurship, KC BizCare, Office of the City Manager
- Cecilia Wessinger, ESHIP Community Manager, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation
